This category is open to any business in the borough that employs the equivalent of 10 full-time staff or less. You should demonstrate why you think you are the best small business, this can include customer service, staff development, how you work with the community, trading results and anything you think makes your business stand out from the rest.

It celebrates teams that work together effectively, support one another, and foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive workplace culture. Whether delivering an outstanding project, navigating challenges, or consistently contributing to organisational success, this award highlights teams that truly excel.

This award celebrates outstanding hospitality businesses that consistently deliver excellent customer experience, demonstrate high operational standards, and contribute positively to Spelthorne’s local community.

This Award celebrates businesses that have brought fresh ideas to life, whether by launching a new product or service or by introducing a new process or way of woring that adds value. All types of innovation are welcome, from small improvements to major changes, as long as they were introduced within the past three years.

This award honours organisations which demonstrate a passion for influencing their teams or organisations to achieve a more sustainable pathway. It could be a system, product or service that significantly improves sustainability or provides sustainable market alternatives that addresses a critical environmental challenge.

This award category will champion organisations/individuals who are working to remove barriers to employment and work progression, adapting their employment practices to provide positive impacts.

This can include support for neurodiverse, under represented or disadvantaged minority groups, women returning to work, carers, care leavers, ex offenders or careers and advice practitioners in schools.

This award recognises exceptional charities, not for profit organisations and voluntary groups that can demonstrate how a specific project or initiative has had a positive impact in the community.

This Award recognises businesses that go above and beyond to demonstrate exceptional commitment to customer satisfation. Applicants should demonstrate how they meet customer needs and go beyond expectations; whether customer feedback is collected, acted upon and used to improve your offering; examples of how you create and maintain strong, loyal customer relationships and how you train any team members to deliver consistently high quality customer experience.

This Award recognises leisure businesses that deliver outstanding services and deliver exemplary customer experience. This is open to theatres, cinemas, sports and health clubs, hotels, venues and local visitor attractions. Applicants should demonstrate how they deliver an outstanding customer and visitor experience, innovations or improvements that enhance your leisure offering, how you train and empower staff to deliver a high quality service.

This award recognises excellence across the property and construction sector, celebrating businesses of all sizes—from sole traders and small contractors to larger firms—who deliver high‑quality work, professionalism, and positive impact within Spelthorne.

This Award celebrates businesses, charities and community groups making a meaningful difference in the borough. Applicants should demonstrate how their work creates lasting community benefits, strengthens partnerships and delivers genuine, measurable impact.

This award category is open to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional performance and initiative and is regarded as a future business leader.  They could be an apprentice who has gone above and beyond the duties of their role, or someone who has shown creativity, resilience, or flair to become an integral part of the business.  It could also be an individual who has set up a business and can demonstrate a high degree of entrepreneurship and vision for the future. 

This category can be an individual application or a nomination.
